The investor requested the construction of a two-story addition to the existing barn, while preserving the original walls and supporting wooden structures. Thanks to the flexibility of the system used, it was possible to carry out the addition despite the asymmetry of the original structure.

The architectural and material design creates an interesting contrast between the 100-year-old structures and modern construction methods. Most of the SIP panels were cut to size on site so that the final installation would be symmetrical with the existing building. Panels with cutouts for electrical wiring were used for the exterior walls. The ceiling structure was constructed using EP 210 panels laid on the barn’s existing solid wooden beams.
