Workshop 2021 - Protection, Sealing, Ventilation, and Heating of Wooden Buildings
The event was attended by leading manufacturers and suppliers of materials and services.
Representatives from the Swiss company SIGA presented a special self-adhesive film that, when applied to horizontal or sloped surfaces of buildings under construction, provides protection against rain and snow for a period of twelve weeks. They also demonstrated a complete system of films and adhesive tapes for roofing and wall solutions in wooden buildings, all presented practically in a printed user manual in Czech. The representative of the German company MELTEM presented a ventilation unit with heat recovery that was launched two years ago. The unit is designed for both new construction and renovations and can be used for both decentralized and centralized ventilation. It features high performance and very low noise levels, making it suitable for installation in bedrooms and children’s rooms. The Wood Research and Development Institute in Prague is an independent certification body that provides statutory oversight of most manufacturers and suppliers of timber structures in the Czech Republic. It serves as a technical guarantor and court-appointed expert in the field of timber construction. During the workshop, specialists presented practical demonstrations of wood building diagnostics in the areas of air permeability, moisture, and infrared diagnostics, including the techniques used, and answered questions regarding safe structural solutions and the remediation of building defects.
