A Step-by-Step Report on Building a House with EUROPANEL – Part 3
Dear EUROPANEL supporters. At our meetings with prospective homebuilders, we are often asked questions about the EUROPANEL construction system and the entire building process, from obtaining a building permit to the completion of the project. We have prepared a report for you on a house currently under construction.

In today’s episode, we’ll begin the structural work by installing the foundation slab

EUROPANEL foundation slabs have been in use since 2009. Their development was preceded by extensive research into ground anchors and the EUROPANEL building system. The combination of these technologies gave rise to a new method of foundation construction, which quickly gained traction in the construction market—primarily due to its simplicity, cost-effectiveness, precision, and the functional properties of the slabs.

Before beginning the actual installation, it is necessary to review the installation documentation for this phase and verify that all required materials—including fasteners, the specified adhesive, and foam—have been delivered. Installation begins by laying larch BSH beams and anchoring them to the ground anchors. Floor panels are then attached to the resulting frames. Standard work procedures and materials defined in EUROPANEL’s technical documentation are used during installation. Rainfall is likely unavoidable during installation. EUROPANEL is highly weather-resistant; the OSB used in the panels has up to 50% better mechanical properties and resistance to precipitation than standard OSB. Nevertheless, it is very important to sweep, wipe, or vacuum water off horizontal surfaces after the rain stops so that the structures exposed to the rain can dry out.

In the next installment, we’ll tackle the walls and ceilings.
